What to expect from our lindfield power washing service
A few minutes from our base in RH16, Lindfield is a village we're on driveways and patios in most weeks of the year — the High Street and Denmans Lane, the roads off Backwoods Lane and Summerhill Lane, and out towards Walstead and Scaynes Hill, where the properties get larger and the drives longer.
Much of the village is conservation area or listed, and the rest is largely Victorian or Edwardian brick with original stone paths, brick setts and tile-hung elevations. That changes how we work: soft brick, old lime pointing and worn York stone won't take the pressure a modern concrete drive shrugs off, so we drop the pressure, change the nozzle and let chemistry do more of the work.
Every quote is given in person, free of charge. Twenty minutes on site looking at the surfaces, the pointing and the roofline gets you an honest price and a realistic idea of the finish — a phone estimate never will.
The mix of jobs we take on
We cover the whole exterior, and in a village of older houses that usually means more than one item on the list. Driveways and paths come first, patios and terraces next, and a great many Lindfield customers add a roofline visit — gutters cleared, fascias and soffits washed, windows finished — because the access is already up and it saves a second call-out.

Old paving asks for patience, not power
The heavy tree cover along the High Street and around the pond keeps a lot of Lindfield paving in shade, and shade plus damp Wealden clay is exactly what algae and moss want. Add the leaf litter that fills joints every autumn and you get a green, slippery surface within two or three seasons of being laid or last cleaned.
On original stone, brick setts and old lime-pointed paths, blasting it clean would ruin the surface. Sandstone and worn York stone erode, brick faces spall, and weak pointing washes straight out, needing replacement at far more cost than the clean ever saved. We work at reduced pressure with a rotary head, treat organic growth with a biocide that keeps working after we've gone, and re-point or re-sand where it's genuinely needed.
We also look at why a surface stays wet in the first place. Overhanging growth, a blocked gully or a downpipe discharging onto paving brings the green back within a year however well it's cleaned, so we'll point that out and quote for it separately if you want it sorted.
The villages that ring Lindfield
As well as Lindfield itself we work throughout Walstead, Scaynes Hill, Ardingly, Horsted Keynes, Cuckfield, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, and further across Sussex and the South East for larger jobs. Most of our work sits in this RH16 and RH17 cluster, so a smaller job can usually be fitted around a bigger booking nearby.
Narrow village roads with limited parking are normal to us. Our vans carry their own water and power, so there's no need to run hoses across a shared drive or a neighbour's frontage, and larger jobs are staged so access is never blocked for long.
Pub patios, shop frontages, village hall paving and communal areas for local management companies feature alongside the domestic work, usually early morning so nobody's inconvenienced.

Call or send the enquiry form and we'll arrange to come and look. On the visit we measure up, identify what the surfaces actually are, and flag anything worth knowing — loose pointing, a cracked slab, black spot lichen, a leaking gutter joint — before sending a written price, usually the same day.
Most Lindfield jobs are a single day. Sealing block paving or oiling decking needs the surface fully dry, so those return as a short second visit, and we'll tell you that at the quote stage rather than afterwards.
