Window Cleaning

Ordinary tap water in the South East is hard. When it evaporates from glass it leaves behind everything that was dissolved in it — calcium, magnesium and other minerals — which is exactly what those familiar spots, streaks and cloudy patches are. Traditional cleaning gets round this by removing the water manually with a squeegee and blade before it can dry, which works well on ground-floor glass and is far harder to do consistently at height.

A pure water system removes the minerals before the water ever touches the window. What is left is aggressively soft water that actively wants to pick up dirt, and which dries leaving nothing behind. The glass genuinely gets cleaner over successive visits, because each clean lifts a little more of the film that has bonded to the surface, and the effect is most obvious on frames and rubbers, which conventional cleaning tends to skip.

The practical benefits matter too. The pole reaches second and third-floor windows, conservatory roofs, dormers and awkward extensions from the safety of the ground. Nothing is leaned against your gutters or frames, we do not need to walk through your house or across flowerbeds, and there is no ladder footprint on the lawn.

Most of our domestic customers are on a regular cycle, because that is what keeps glass genuinely clear rather than perpetually catching up. Four-weekly suits properties on busier roads or under trees; six or eight-weekly is plenty for most houses on quieter streets. We text or message ahead of each visit so nobody is surprised, and payment is straightforward after each clean.

One-off cleans are equally welcome and we do plenty of them: post-renovation cleans where plaster dust and paint splatter need removing, end-of-tenancy cleans, pre-sale cleans before photographs are taken, and the annual tidy-up before a summer party. Building work sometimes leaves cement, silicone smears or paint on glass, which needs careful mechanical removal rather than pure water alone — we will look at it and tell you what is achievable.

Window cleaning is often the point at which people notice everything else. Once the glass is sparkling, grey soffits, a mossy roof, a green driveway and streaked guttering suddenly stand out. Because we cover all of it, we can do the whole exterior in one coordinated visit rather than three separate trades, and it usually works out cheaper and considerably less disruptive.

A common package is windows plus soffits, fascias and gutter exteriors — all reachable with the same pole system — and it changes how a house looks in a single day. Add a driveway or patio clean and the property looks better than it has in years.

There are also practical reasons for combining. Cleaning a driveway inevitably puts some fine spray onto lower windows, so doing the glass afterwards makes obvious sense. Clearing a roof puts debris in the gutters, so gutter work belongs in the same visit. We will always suggest the sensible order rather than just booking whatever you asked for.
