What to expect from our burgess hill power washing service

This is home ground. Most of our customers hear about us by word of mouth from a neighbour, and from the older streets around Junction Road and Church Road to the newer estates off Folders Lane, Maple Drive and the Northern Arc, we're on driveways and patios across RH15 most weeks of the year.

Being genuinely local changes what you get. We're not driving in from another county with a national price list — we know which roads take a van and trailer, we know the estates, and if something isn't right we can be back the same week rather than the next month. Our reputation here is the whole business, so we treat it that way.

Every quote is given in person and costs nothing. Twenty minutes looking at your driveway, patio or roofline gets you an honest number and a realistic idea of the result — a phone estimate never will.

What tends to be on the job list

We cover the complete exterior of a property, which is why so many Burgess Hill jobs turn into more than one task. Block paving driveways are the most common single request, cleaned, re-sanded and treated. A driveway and patio together, or a roofline package of gutters, soffits, fascias and windows in one visit, is the most common combination.

  • Driveway jet washing — block paving, concrete, imprinted concrete and tarmac
  • Patio and path cleaning, including natural stone and porcelain
  • Timber and composite decking cleaning
  • Roof moss removal and biocide treatment
  • Gutter clearing, leak repairs and full replacement
  • Soffit and fascia cleaning, repair and uPVC refits
  • Window cleaning on regular rounds or one-off
  • Swimming pool shells and surrounds

Why the town's driveways green up so fast

There's a straightforward reason so many driveways here look tired within a few years of being laid: mid Sussex clay holds water, keeping paving damp longer after rain than a free-draining site would; the town has heavy mature tree cover, meaning leaf fall and constant organic litter in the joints; and plenty of properties have their driveway on the shaded north or east side of the house.

Put those three together and you have ideal conditions for algae and moss. Spores land in the silt between blocks, germinate in the permanent damp, and within a couple of seasons the surface is green, slippery and several shades darker than it should be. Weeds follow, because that same silt is a ready-made seed bed sitting in the joints.

The fix isn't a yearly blast with more pressure. It's removing the silt, replacing it with clean kiln dried sand, applying a residual treatment that keeps working after we've gone, and sorting the drainage or overhanging growth keeping the surface wet in the first place. That's the difference between a driveway that looks good for a season and one that looks good for years.

Beyond Burgess Hill itself

We work regularly in Hassocks, Ditchling, Keymer, Wivelsfield, Ansty, Cuckfield, Lindfield, Haywards Heath and Hurstpierpoint, and we're happy to travel further across Sussex and the South East for larger jobs. Because our work is clustered locally, a smaller job can often be fitted around a bigger booking nearby, which keeps prices sensible.

There's a fair amount of commercial work in the town too — small industrial units on the Victoria and Sheddingdean estates, shop fronts, pub patios, care home and school paving, and communal areas for local management companies. That work is usually scheduled early morning or around opening hours so nobody's inconvenienced.

Whichever kind of job it is, the approach doesn't change: turn up when we said, work tidily, protect what's around the job, sweep up properly, and leave a price with nothing added at the end.

How to book us in

Ring us or send the enquiry form and we'll arrange a time to come and look. On the visit we measure up, identify the surfaces, and flag anything worth knowing — a sunken block, failed pointing, black spot lichen, a gutter joint already leaking — before giving you a written price, usually the same day.

Most domestic jobs are a single day. Sealing a driveway or oiling a deck needs a dry surface, so those come back as a second short visit — we'll always tell you which category your job falls into before you commit.

There's no obligation at any stage, and no pressure to add services you didn't ask about. If your driveway genuinely doesn't need doing yet, that's what you'll hear.
