What to expect from our ardingly power washing service
Ardingly is one of the greenest places on our books, and that is exactly why the phone rings so often from RH17. We are regularly out cleaning driveways, paths and patios along the High Street and Street Lane, on the properties around College Road and Standgrove, and out towards the reservoir, Balcombe and Horsted Keynes.
The village has long drives, gravel-and-block mixes, big stone terraces and mature woodland pressed right up against most houses. Sandstone outcrops and Wealden clay keep the ground damp underfoot, the tree canopy keeps everything shaded, and between them you get heavy moss packed into paving joints and thick growth across north-facing roofs.

Most Ardingly bookings end up covering several things at once, because we look after the whole outside of a property rather than one surface in isolation. Long block and gravel drives are the usual starting point, stone terraces and patios come next, and a good number of customers add a roofline visit while the access is already set up — gutters cleared and checked, fascias and soffits washed, windows finished.

Why the moss keeps coming back under the trees
There is more tree cover per property in Ardingly than almost anywhere else we work. Woodland pressed against a house brings autumn leaf fall, permanent shade on at least one elevation, and a steady supply of organic debris dropping into paving joints, gutters and roof valleys year after year.
That combination produces a distinct pattern: joints packed with moss instead of sand, deep growth on the shaded roof pitch, gutters filling twice a year rather than once. Cleaning the surface on its own barely touches it, because the shade and the leaf litter are still there the following week.
So we remove the growth properly, replace what should be in the joints with fresh kiln dried sand, and apply a residual biocide to slow regrowth for years rather than months. If cutting back a branch or clearing a gully would do more good than another spring clean, we will tell you that too. Roofs are hand scraped and treated — we never pressure wash them.
Out past the village boundary
Beyond Ardingly itself we work regularly in Balcombe, Horsted Keynes, Lindfield, Cuckfield, West Hoathly, Handcross, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, and further across Sussex and the South East for bigger jobs. So much of our work clusters around RH17 that a smaller job can often be slotted in alongside a larger booking nearby, which keeps the price sensible.
Long private drives, gated entrances and rural lanes are routine for us — our vans carry their own water and generator, so a missing outside tap or power point is never a reason to turn a job down, and we bring our own access equipment for anything at height.
We also take on commercial and estate work locally: showground and events paving, school and community buildings, farm yards, holiday lets and communal areas for management companies, usually scheduled around access and opening times.

Most domestic jobs finish within a day, though a long drive plus a big terrace can run to two. Sealing paving or oiling decking needs a dry surface, so that comes back as a short second visit and we'll say so up front.
