What to expect from our brighton & hove power washing service

BN1, BN2 and BN3 between them take in the Victorian terraces of Hanover and Kemptown, the wide bay-fronted roads of Hove and Aldrington, the hillside estates of Hollingbury, Withdean and Patcham, and the flat-fronted streets running west into Portslade and Southwick. We work all of it, every month.

City work isn't village work, and we plan around that difference. Many properties have no off-street parking, front gardens are small and paved over, basement lightwells collect debris, and terraces share gutters and rooflines with the houses either side. We work in stages, bring our own water and power rather than relying on yours, and keep pavements clear and swept while we're on site.

Quotes are given in person, on the doorstep, free of charge. We look at the surfaces, the access and the drainage, then give you a written price and tell you honestly where a surface has weathered past the point any clean will fix it.

Everything we take on along the seafront and inland

We cover the whole exterior of a property. In the city that most often means paved front gardens, side returns and rear patios, plus a roofline package — gutters cleared, fascias and soffits washed, render and windows finished — because scaffold-free access from poles and powered lifts makes it sensible to do the lot in one visit.

  • Patio, path and courtyard cleaning, including sandstone, concrete and tile
  • Driveway and hardstanding jet washing where off-street parking exists
  • Roof moss removal by hand scrape, followed by biocide treatment
  • Gutter clearing, leak repairs and full replacement, including cast iron
  • Soffit, fascia and bargeboard cleaning, repair and uPVC refits
  • Render, cladding and painted masonry cleaning at controlled pressure
  • Window cleaning with pure water, including bays, sashes and high-level glass
  • Communal areas, stairwells, bin stores and walkways for managed blocks

Salt, sand and traffic film do more damage than dirt

Living by the coast changes the job. Salt-laden air and windblown sand off the beach bond a fine gritty film onto glass, frames, render and painted masonry, and that film grabs hold of traffic soot from the main roads and the A259 seafront. It isn't dirt sitting loosely on the surface, which is why a garden hose barely dents it.

Salt also speeds up corrosion. Gutter brackets, fixings, railings and older cast iron rainwater goods fail faster here than a few miles inland, so when we clear a gutter in BN1 to BN3 we inspect and report on the fixings rather than just emptying it out.

Tap water is a false economy on glass this close to the sea — it dries and leaves spotting within minutes. All glass, frames and sills are finished with deionised water through a pole system. Render and painted masonry get controlled low pressure with the right cleaning agent, because high pressure blows out render and does far more harm than the dirt ever did.

Streets, blocks and villages we work across

Brighton, Hove, Kemptown, Hanover, Preston Park, Fiveways, Patcham, Withdean, Hollingdean, Hollingbury, Woodingdean, Rottingdean, Saltdean, Portslade and Southwick are all regular ground, along with the villages inland towards Falmer, Stanmer and the Downs.

We also work for landlords, letting agents and property management companies with blocks of flats across the city — communal walkways, stairwells, bin areas, car parks and high-level glass. Those sites get surveyed first, with a risk assessment and method statement, and the work is timed so residents and tenants are never blocked in or out.

Access gets planned before we turn up. Reach-and-wash poles handle most terraced and semi-detached work, and where we need to go higher we bring IPAF-trained operatives with a scissor lift or cherry picker rather than improvising off a ladder.

What to expect once you get in touch

Send the enquiry form or call with the address and a rough idea of the work. We'll come and look, measure up, check access and parking restrictions, and send a written price — usually the same day for domestic work, and after a site survey for managed blocks.

Most domestic jobs finish in a single day. Anything needing powered access is booked to a fixed date because the lift is hired in specially, and that date is confirmed in writing before anything is committed.

The price you're quoted is the price you pay. If a permit or a suspended bay is needed for the lift, that's built into the quote rather than added on afterwards.
