We recently made the trip across Sussex to Hastings to assist a homeowner whose roof had become heavily weathered and overgrown with moss. This method is particularly important on older roof tiles, where too much force can easily crack or dislodge them. We worked across the roof in sections, treating each area thoroughly before moving on to the next.

Clearing gutters and leaving the property tidy

Once the surface contaminants were loosened, we performed a thorough rinse to reveal the original colour of the tiles. The difference was immediate, giving the entire property a much cleaner and more maintained appearance. After the main cleaning phase was complete, we ensured that all downpipes were clear and that no debris was left in the gutters or on the surrounding driveway and patio.

Preventative advice for the future

To keep the roof looking its best for years to come, we recommend a light preventative treatment every few years to stop moss from re-establishing itself. Keeping nearby overhanging branches trimmed can also help reduce the amount of shade and organic matter falling onto the tiles.
