A dull driveway in mid-Sussex
We recently headed out to a property in mid-Sussex to tackle a driveway that had certainly seen better days. The homeowner reached out because their once-bright entrance had become dull, slippery, and overgrown with stubborn weeds and moss nestled in the joints. For a family-run firm like ours, with over twenty years of experience under our belts, this is exactly the kind of project we love to get stuck into. The customer needed a complete restoration to bring back that important kerb appeal while ensuring the surface was safe and slip-resistant for the winter months ahead.
Pressure washing with care
We started the process by clearing away loose debris before setting up our professional-grade pressure washing equipment. Because we understand that different surfaces require different levels of care, we carefully adjusted our pressure settings to ensure a deep clean without causing any damage to the substrate or the structural integrity of the blocks. We applied a specialist cleaning solution designed to break down ingrained grime and organic growth, allowing it to dwell before performing a thorough rinse. It was satisfying to see years of dirt simply wash away, revealing the original colour and texture of the driveway that had been hidden for so long.
Treatment and finishing work
Once the surface was completely clean and the drainage channels were cleared of all silt, we focused on the vital finishing touches. After allowing the area to dry, we applied a high-quality treatment to protect the surface and inhibit the return of weeds. This step is crucial for longevity, as it helps to stabilise the jointing sand and creates a barrier against the elements. We always advise our customers that a little bit of regular sweeping and a light seasonal rinse can go a long way in keeping the area looking fresh between professional deep cleans.
The finished driveway
The team did a fantastic job on this one, and the results really speak for themselves. The cleaning removed the accumulated grime, the moss and weeds were gone from the joints, and the whole entrance had a much cleaner, more even appearance. It is always a pleasure to see a transformation that makes such a difference to a home.
