Driveway weed treatment in Sussex

We recently visited a property in Sussex to help a homeowner who had become increasingly frustrated with the state of their driveway. The main problem was a persistent and heavy growth of weeds and moss that had taken hold between the paving blocks, making the entrance to the home look neglected and untidy. Over time, organic matter had filled the joints, providing a perfect seedbed for greenery to flourish.

Assessing the condition before cleaning

The customer needed a thorough restoration that would not only clear the immediate mess but also include a preventive measure to keep the surface cleaner for much longer. With over twenty years of experience in exterior cleaning, we know that every surface requires a tailored approach. We began by assessing the condition of the drive to determine the correct pressure settings before any water was applied.

Pressure washing the driveway

Using our professional-grade jet washing equipment, we systematically cleared away the accumulated grime, lichen and stubborn weeds from the paving. We adjusted the pressure to suit the condition of the blocks, working methodically across the whole area. We also took care to manage water runoff and ensure that the surrounding areas, including edges and borders, remained tidy while we worked.

Applying a weed treatment

Once the surface had been thoroughly rinsed and all the debris cleared away, we moved on to the most important part of the project. To address the customer’s request to slow down the return of weeds, we applied a specialist treatment designed to inhibit future growth. By using the correct professional chemicals at the right concentration, we could treat the underlying roots and spores that a simple wash might miss. This proactive step is what separates a standard clean from a longer-term maintenance solution.

The finished result

The final result restored the driveway to its original appearance. The blocks were clean and free from unsightly vegetation, which significantly improved the kerb appeal of the property. To keep a driveway in this condition, we always recommend regular sweeping to prevent organic matter from settling in the joints again.
